Importing trades from a file

Click Import on the Dashboard and pick a file. This is free — it is not a Pro feature.

Video walkthrough coming soon

A short video showing each of these steps will appear here.

Steps

  1. Select the account tab you want the trades to land in first. The import always goes into the selected book.
  2. Export your history from your platform. TradingView: History, then Export .csv. Tradovate: Performance, Orders, Export. cTrader: History, right-click, Create Statement. MT4: Account History, right-click, Save as Detailed Report. MT5: History, Report, HTML.
  3. Click Import and choose the file. TradingView, Tradovate, cTrader, MT4 and MT5 are recognised from the file itself, so there is nothing to pick.
  4. Any other layout opens the column mapper. Point Symbol, Entry price, Quantity and Trade date at your columns. Direction, Exit price, P&L and Ticket are optional — direction can be left out if your quantity is signed.
  5. Give the mapping a name and save it. The next file from that broker imports in one click.
  6. Check the summary before anything is saved. Rows that could not be read are listed with the reason and the row number, so a partial import never looks like a complete one.

Good to know

  • Accepted file types: .csv, .tsv, .txt, .tab, .htm and .html.
  • Saved column mappings are stored in this browser only. They are not tied to your account, so they will not follow you to another device and are lost if you clear site data. There is no way to delete one, but you can rename it.
  • If your dates could be read either way round (03/04 could be March or April), the mapper lets you set the order explicitly instead of guessing.
  • Re-importing the same file will not duplicate trades — rows are matched on their ticket number.
