Keep your evaluation clean

A TopStep trading journal that keeps your Combine and XFA rules visible.

A Combine can end on one red afternoon. DuskAnalyst tracks drawdown, daily loss and consistency across your Combine and XFA, so the limits are never a surprise.

Free tier: 2 accounts, no card required.

Why it matters

Why TopStep traders need a structured journal

Your Combine and XFA live on trailing drawdown, daily loss and consistency. A journal that computes those numbers from your own trades shows you the limits before you hit them.

Track the rules that matter

Current drawdown, daily loss, profit target progress, win rate and profit factor are computed from your closed trades, so you always know how much room is left in the account.

Manual or auto-sync

Free tier: log manually or import CSV at $0 — enough to track a full evaluation. If your TopStep accounts run on a supported terminal such as MT4, MT5 or cTrader, Pro at $25 per month auto-syncs every closed trade.

Evidence for review

Every trade, tag and note in one searchable history, with calendars and weekly reports — the evidence to review against your rules before your next attempt. The Free tier covers two accounts at $0; Pro adds unlimited accounts, auto-sync, AI insights and full export.

FAQ

TopStep journaling questions, answered.

How do I track drawdown on a TopStep Combine?

In a TopStep Combine you manage both a trailing drawdown and a daily loss limit, so you need to know your current drawdown before every trade, not after a red day. DuskAnalyst computes current drawdown and max drawdown from your closed trades, so you can see exactly how much room is left in the account. Win rate, profit factor and daily P&L are calculated automatically, and weekly reports show where the drawdown actually came from. In our 2026 audit we checked 356 brokers and prop firms one by one against their own sites, and the brokers table on our home page shows the evidence for each one.

Does the journal track TopStep's daily loss limit?

Yes. The journal calculates your daily P&L for every trading day and flags days that approach or breach your configured daily loss limit, so a red morning doesn't silently turn into a blown Combine. You set the limit to match your account, and the same tracking carries into the XFA once you are funded. The journal is a record of your own numbers: it never places orders, changes charts or touches your indicators, and it never sees your broker password or login credentials. Data is stored on Cloudflare, identity is handled by Auth0, billing by Stripe, and the AI that answers your insight questions runs on DeepSeek.

How does a journal help with consistency for payouts?

Consistency is repeatable, rule-following execution rather than one giant winning day. A journal makes that measurable: win rate, profit factor, daily P&L distribution and your rule tags show whether results come from a repeatable process or from a few lucky trades. DuskAnalyst's AI insights let you ask questions of your own trade history, like which sessions or setups produce your losses, and weekly reports keep the pattern visible. Free covers two accounts with manual entry and CSV import at $0; Pro at $25 per month adds unlimited accounts, auto-sync, AI insights and full export.

Can DuskAnalyst help me pass a TopStep Combine?

It helps you know exactly where you stand, which removes a big part of evaluation failure: trading blind. The journal tracks drawdown, daily loss, profit factor, win rate and progress toward your profit target, so you can see when you are too close to a limit to keep trading. It does not guarantee passing an evaluation — no journal can — and DuskAnalyst is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TopstepTrader. You still own the execution and the risk decisions; the journal just makes them visible.

How do I get TopStep trades into the journal?

On Free, log trades manually or import them from your platform via CSV — that is enough to track a full evaluation, and it costs $0 with no card required. If your TopStep accounts run on a supported terminal such as MT4, MT5 or cTrader, Pro at $25 per month auto-syncs every closed trade with unlimited accounts, AI insights and full export. Either way, only your closed trades and the account nickname leave the terminal. Data is stored on Cloudflare, identity is handled by Auth0, billing by Stripe, and the AI that answers your insight questions runs on DeepSeek.
